What to Wear when there is a Chances Of Rain
If you live anywhere near the Pacific Northwest you will understand the challenges of choosing what wear on Chance of Rain Days. You never know what might happen in Seattle, our weather will jump from one extreme to the next, such as icy and cold in the morning and warm and rainy by early afternoon. As a Pacific Northwest Native, Outdoor Enthusiast and Fashion Nerd, I would love to share my extremely practical mom approved Chance of Rain Day outfit tips.
1. Bring a large waterproof purse. Like this beautiful deep purple Gap Purse I found for $6.99 at Goodwill. This will serve as storage for any unused layers.
2. Bring a thin raincoat, something that is not bulky Incase you need to put it in your purse. The nice thing about a raincoat is that it serves as a wind breaker in dry cold weather.
3. Bring all of these winter must have accessories, hat, scarf, gloves and leg warmers. The great thing about accessories is they ad extra warmth without taking up a lot of space in your purse. Also you will look super cute in all your nice accessories that you got at amazing prices from goodwill, like my purple Northface Hat I found for only $5.99, my purple merino wool and cashmere Italian gloves I found brand new with the tags still on for only $2.99, my purple wig wam socks found for only $2.99, and my luxurious purple pashmina found for only $3.99. Dress to impress the wallet, and the planet. By shopping local sustainable fashion you contribute to the wellness of our beautiful earth.
4. Wear a few layers of shirts. I like the wear an undershirt and a long sleeve shirt and a thin fleece. Today I choose this cute athletica hoody found at goodwill for $3.99 it isn’t bulky but it is warm with its thumb hole sleeves.
Now you have all the tools for outfit success in oppositional weather. You can choose how many accessories to wear based on how cold it gets and if it rains you will be ready to go with your raincoat. Most importantly, with your big bag you will have cute waterproof storage for all your extras.
