Finding Missing Puzzle Pieces

A good wardrobe functions like a puzzle, with each piece fitting into outfits making perfect pictures. One of my absolute favorite things about shopping at thrift-shops is finding a matching piece to an outfit I already have at home. It feels like finding a missing puzzle piece, the satisfaction is exponential for an OCD Fashionista like me.

Here is a little fashion history for my younger readers... Back in the early 2000’s Juicy Couture tracksuits where all the rage. I was lucky enough to find a Juicy Jacket on one shopping trip, then a few months later I found the matching pants. This happened to me so many times, I ended up with three completely matching Juicy Couture Tracksuits, and I never spent more than $12 on any of them. This was when one of these velour leisure suits would run about $250-$300 per suit. I owned three of them for less than the cost of one! For a broke girl with expensive taste, I was as pleased as a pig in the mud 🐷

My most recent puzzle I put together with goodwill finds is this adorable American Eagle Outfitters sweater and matching leggings. They have a grey winter theme that makes me think of snow bunnies and hot chocolate.  I layered my look today to create warmth and versatility. My inspiration piece was this completed AEO puzzle. I found the sweater about a year ago for $5.99 and then during the summer I found the matching leggings, for only $2.99, both AEO and both with the same pattern. That moment I found those leggings was the definition of satisfaction and happiness.
