My First Blog

As a socially awkward girl, fashion has been my safe place, no matter what the situation or my mood, if I am well dressed, it brings me joy. I am a Professional Nanny and spend most of my days playing on the floor with babies or playing outside at the zoo or the playground, I really need my style to be comfortable inside and outside no matter the weather. I live in one of the most beautiful places on earth, Seattle WA. Our gorgeous city boasts picturesque skylines, breathtaking views and bipolar weather. Here in Seattle our weather, like our people, is subject to intense mood swings, it’s not uncommon to be both cold and rainy and hot and sunny all in one day. A true Seattle fashionista must be able to adapt to those changes quickly and easily. My favorite approach to our unpredictable meteorology is to wear lots of matching layers,  l love layering, as it provides the opportunity for multiple costume changes throughout your day.  

To be honest I have always had expensive taste, but I haven't always been able to afford my style. Even as a broke girl I have always found a way to take Tim Gunn’s words to heart and “make it work.”  My secret to being a True Seattle Fashionista is shopping my local thriftshop, "I’m gonna pop some tags, only got $20 in my pocket". I especially love that my money helps support local non protfits, enriching my community and helping the environment just by adding to my wardrobe, now that is fashionable. By putting our money back into our communities rather than into the hands of an industry that is environmentally disastarious, we reduce the demand on the industry thus reducing our environmental impact. Keeping this beautiful planet clean for our future generations. Shopping at your local thriftshop means that you can look fabulous and be fabulous too! This blog will serve as inspiration for others who wish to help the planet and the purse without compromising style.
